What is a BID?

The South Shore BID is a recognized 501c3 non profit organization created to promote the economic vitality in the towns of Annadale, Eltingville, and Great Kills. A Business Improvement District (BID) is a program whereby business and property owners come together as a collective group to increase the economic development and revitalize the neighborhoods and community they service. Ultimately, its goal is to make the towns of Annadale, Eltingville, and Great Kills a safer and cleaner pace to work, shop and live.

What Is Our District?

We represent over 170 commercial properties which account for more than 300 unique businesses in the towns of Annadale, Eltingville and Great Kills. We are one of 4 BIDS in the borough with the others being the Forest Avenue BID, the West Shore BID, and the New Dorp Lane BID.

What Services Do We Provide?

Since its formation in 2015, The South Shore BID has been providing private sanitation services, community events such as The Annadale Tree Lighting & Taste of the Towns Trolley Event, beautification projects, holiday lighting in the towns, our online business directory, and more recently the installation of security cameras in key locations.

A business improvement district (BID) is a public/private partnership in which property owners and business owners collectively agree to pay for additional services such as maintenance, sanitation, marketing, and events to enhance their district and make it more appealing for people to work, shop and live.

The Mission of the South Shore Business Improvement District is to make the towns of Annadale, Eltingville and Great Kills safer, more beautiful and ultimately a better place to work, shop and live.
