STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island foodies will be hopping the trolley for the third annual “Taste of the Towns” on Sunday on the South Shore.

The South Shore Business Improvement District (BID) and Councilman Joe Borelli (R-South Shore) are hosting the event from 1 to 5 p.m.

Many revelers could leave their cars at home since food and beverages will be offered along the trolley route in Annadale, Eltingville and Great Kills. However, consumers are free to use their own means of public or private transportation.

The two trolleys will run nonstop to shuttle patrons. Guests are encouraged to visit all of the locations in one town before hopping on the trolley to go to the next town.

Participating restaurants include Annadale Bakery, Curly Wolf, Play Sports Bar, The Pizza Parlor, The Square, Healthy Kitchen, Mona Lisa, Sweet Sweet Sue’s, Romeo’s Pizzeria, Alfonso’s Bakery, Campania, Joyce’s Tavern, Giovanni’s Trattoria, Holiday Beverage, Richmond Republic, Smash Burger, Ari Rang, Flanagan’s Tavern, Mimmo’s, Nonna’s and Top Tomato.

You can go to www.SouthShoreBID.org for the most up-to-date list of participating restaurants, and to purchase tickets for the event.

Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 the day of the event. Ticket holders will receive a complimentary tasting at each participating location and be granted access to the trolley.

Registration locations for guests to check in are the Richmond County Savings Banks in Annadale at 820 Annadale Rd., Eltingville at 4523 Amboy Rd. and Great Kills at 3879 Amboy Rd.

Guests will be given a map highlighting the participating locations, as well as a booklet to be used to redeem complimentary tastings. Guests can also cast their vote for their favorite participating location, and the winner will receive the “Best of The BID Award.”
