STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Looking to entertain the kids and not break the bank?

The South Shore Business Improvement District (BID) gives families the opportunity to enjoy free rides, games and music at three different locations on the South Shore on Saturday, June 6.

“Family Fun Day” — from noon to 5 p.m. in Eltingville, Annadale and Great Kills — will feature bouncy houses, balloon artists, a live DJ and a variety of rides and games at each location. It is sponsored by Councilman Vincent Ignizio, Richmond County Savings Foundation and Staten Island Economic Development Corporation.

“Events like this are a prime example of what the South Shore BID was set up for,” said Councilman and Minority Leader Vincent Ignizio. “These events are designed to drive traffic to the towns and ultimately the businesses that reside there.”

The five-hour event is the first organized by the newly formed South Shore BID, a movement designed to spur economic growth that was signed into law by Mayor Bill de Blasio in April. “Family Fun Day” organizers hope to develop more events like this in the future to assist the businesses located within the BID.

“It’s all about highlighting the beauty of the South Shore and the small businesses that reside there,” said Anthony Rapacciuolo of PRcision LLC, the event’s coordinator. “We encourage everyone to visit all three locations and while they are there check out what each of the towns have to offer.”

All are invited to attend the free event, which will run simultaneously at the following locations:

Annadale:
Great Kills:
Eltingville:
